Roasted onion peel treatment for gray hair

Gray hair is a natural part of aging, but it often makes people feel insecure. Fortunately, nature offers simple and effective solutions for maintaining dark, vibrant hair. One of these is the use of toasted onion peels, a traditional remedy for promoting healthy hair and combating gray. This homemade treatment is easy to prepare and can help restore some of your hair's natural color and strength.

Ingredients you will need:

  • Onion peel (from 2 to 3 large onions)
  • Curry leaves (a handful)
  • Black seeds (kalonji seeds) – 1 teaspoon
  • Cloves – 4-5
  • Black seed oil or mustard oil – 1 cup

Preparation steps:

  1. To begin, peel 2 or 3 large onions. Make sure the peels are clean and free of dirt or chemicals. For best results, it's recommended to use organic onions, as they are free of pesticides and other harmful chemicals.
  2. In a pan, add the onion skins along with a handful of curry leaves, a teaspoon of black seeds (Kalonji), and 4 or 5 cloves. Toast them over medium heat until the onion skins turn black. The toasting process releases essential nutrients beneficial for hair health.
  3. Once the onion peels have turned black, transfer them to a grinder and grind the mixture into a fine powder.
  4. In a separate bowl, add 1 cup of black seed oil (or mustard oil, if you prefer) to the powder mixture. Mix the ingredients well until you have a smooth paste.

How to use it:

  • Gently massage the oil blend into your scalp, paying special attention to areas with gray hair. Make sure the oil is evenly distributed and covers the hair roots.
  • Leave the oil on your scalp for at least 30 minutes to an hour. For best results, you can leave it on overnight and wash it out the next morning.
  • After the treatment, wash your hair with a mild shampoo to remove the oil.
