Healthy and vigorous little orchids can grow from a "rotting stump" if they are cared for properly.

Learn this procedure and your orchids will be saved.

Identify and learn the causes of orchid rot

If your orchid is suffering from leaf rot, the cause is often fungi and bacteria causing the leaves to rot.

If the rot is not treated quickly, it can spread and lead to the death of the orchid.

If the plant's roots are still green, this is a good sign and the plant has a chance to recover faster.

Orchid regeneration procedure

1. Removing old substrate and damaged roots:

Remove old bark from the plant.

Carefully cut off any damaged roots.

Thoroughly clean the roots of any remaining substrate under running water.

Carefully inspect the roots and remove any soft, brown or rotten parts.

Healthy roots are firm and light green in color.

Disinfect tools used to clean roots to prevent the spread of infection.

2. Preparation and use of rice and garlic water:

Use 3 tablespoons of rice, which is rich in polyphenols, calcium, magnesium and vitamins.

Add 500 ml of water and wait 30 minutes.
